For more than 90 years, Rolland's Jewelers has been one of the most trusted independent jewelry stores in the Chicagoland area. Located in Libertyville, Illinois, just 45 minutes north of Chicago, we have built our reputation on exceptional craftsmanship, outstanding customer service, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

We are seeking an experienced Master Bench Jeweler/Goldsmith to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a jeweler who enjoys a wide variety of bench work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and wants to be part of a stable, family-owned business with modern equipment, an established customer base, and a strong repair volume.

What You'll Be Doing

Our ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a broad range of advanced repair and restoration work, including:

Advanced jewelry repair and restoration
Ring sizing
Soldering and laser welding
Prong rebuilding and retipping
Channel rebuilding and repair
Stone setting in multiple styles
Polishing and rhodium plating
Basic fabrication and metal work
Watch battery replacement, sizing, straps, and pins
Ring removal and specialty repairs
Same-day and while-you-wait repairs
Inspecting jewelry and providing repair recommendations
Collaborating with our repair coordination team to deliver exceptional customer experiences
Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional workshop

What Makes This Opportunity Different

At Rolland's, you'll work alongside an experienced jeweler in a busy, established repair department. Our systems are designed to allow jewelers to focus on what they do best: producing exceptional work while our support staff helps manage workflow, customer communication, and repair coordination.

You'll have access to modern equipment, including laser welding technology, and you'll work on a wide variety of projects ranging from everyday repairs to complex restoration work.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of bench jeweler or goldsmith experience required
Ideally 10+ years of hands-on bench experience in a high-volume environment
Strong skills in jewelry repair and restoration
Experience with stone setting and rebuilding work
Laser welding experience preferred
Fabrication experience is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage workload efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Professional communication skills
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Pride in craftsmanship and workmanship

Compensation & Benefits

$25-$45 per hour based on experience
