Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to lead electrical crews supporting equipment preservation, protection, inspection, and maintenance activities on a large-scale data center project.
This position is focused on ensuring electrical equipment and systems remain properly protected, maintained, inspected, and documented throughout construction, installation, commissioning preparation, and turnover. The Electrical Foreman will provide hands-on field leadership while ensuring all preservation activities are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and established preservation procedures.
A current Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Journeyman Electrician License and OSHA 10 Construction certification are required.
Minimum Requirements
- Current TDLR Journeyman Electrician License - REQUIRED
- OSHA 10 Construction Certification - REQUIRED
- 5+ years of industrial, commercial, mission-critical, or data center electrical experience preferred
- 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Foreman - REQUIRED
- Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical equipment and electrical safety practices
- Experience working around energized and non-energized electrical equipment
- Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, equipment documentation, specifications, and manufacturer requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to work in an active construction environment and coordinate with multiple trades
Primary ResponsibilitiesElectrical Equipment Preservation
- Lead and perform preservation activities on electrical equipment throughout the data center.
- Inspect electrical equipment for signs of moisture, condensation, corrosion, contamination, physical damage, improper storage, or environmental exposure.
- Verify electrical equipment is properly covered, sealed, stored, protected, and maintained according to project preservation requirements.
- Ensure equipment heaters, temporary power, environmental controls, and other preservation measures are maintained when required.
- Perform and oversee scheduled preservation inspections and document equipment condition.
- Verify electrical enclosures, panels, cabinets, and equipment remain properly secured and protected.
- Coordinate corrective action when preservation deficiencies or equipment damage are identified.
- Maintain accurate preservation records, inspection documentation, and deficiency tracking.
Electrical Systems & EquipmentProvide field leadership while working on and around equipment including:
- Switchgear and switchboards
- Transformers
- Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Electrical distribution panels
- UPS systems
- Battery systems and associated equipment
- Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
- Generators and generator electrical systems
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Disconnects and electrical cabinets
- Electrical motors and associated equipment
- Temporary electrical systems
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise temporary power installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and removal as required by the project.
- Electrical components associated with pumps, compressors, air-handling equipment, and mechanical systems
- Other mission-critical electrical equipment installed throughout the facility
Foreman / Crew Leadership
- Supervise and direct electricians, electrical helpers, and other assigned craft personnel.
- Conduct daily pre-task planning and communicate work assignments to the crew.
- Ensure employees understand preservation procedures and project expectations before beginning work.
- Monitor workmanship, productivity, housekeeping, and safety performance.
- Coordinate manpower, tools, materials, and equipment required to complete assigned preservation activities.
- Mentor electrical personnel and reinforce proper electrical work practices.
- Communicate daily progress, deficiencies, manpower needs, and potential schedule impacts to project leadership.
- Coordinate work with mechanical, warehouse, commissioning, QA/QC, safety, and construction management teams.
- Manage PMQA activities for assigned electrical scopes, including coordination, tracking, documentation, closeout, and communication of deficiencies or action items.
Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain full compliance with project-specific safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards.
- Conduct and participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), toolbox talks, and daily safety meetings.
- Enforce proper PPE requirements for all assigned personnel.
- Follow applicable electrical safe-work practices and site-specific electrical safety procedures.
- Maintain safe approach boundaries and ensure proper controls are established when working around electrical equipment.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, near misses, and incidents.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas around electrical and mission-critical equipment.
- Ensure preservation activities do not compromise equipment integrity or create hazards for other trades.
Documentation & Quality Control
- Complete required daily preservation inspection documentation.
- Maintain accurate equipment preservation logs and checklists.
- Document deficiencies using photographs, reports, or project tracking systems as required.
- Verify completed preservation work meets project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Assist with equipment walkdowns and readiness inspections.
- Support QA/QC, commissioning, and turnover activities as required.
- Track open preservation items through completion and verify corrective actions have been properly documented.
- Maintain PMQA records and ensure required inspections, documentation, and corrective actions are completed and properly closed out.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction and industrial electrical equipment
- Ability to identify electrical equipment preservation concerns before they become equipment failures or commissioning issues
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and manufacturer documentation
- Ability to lead crews in a fast-paced data center construction environment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple contractors, trades, and project departments
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in an active construction environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs and access equipment throughout the facility.
- Ability to lift and carry tools, materials, and equipment as required.
- Ability to work around construction equipment, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and other active trades.
- Must comply with all project badging, onboarding, safety, drug screening, and background screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous data center or mission-critical construction experience
- Previous experience with electrical equipment preservation programs
- Experience supporting commissioning and turnover activities
- Familiarity with electrical equipment inspection and preservation documentation
- Experience supervising electrical crews on large-scale industrial projects
- NCCER or additional electrical/safety certifications are a plus
Pay: $55.00 per hour
