Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Activities Coordinator to join our growing team in Williamsville, NY.

Canterbury Woods is a continuing care retirement community unlike any you’ve ever seen. We have one goal and one commitment: We provide older adults with the best possible living experience. From independent living to a full continuum of care, residents can always expect a lifestyle that meets their needs and interests.

Activities coordinator position details:

We are hiring for a Full Time (37.5 hours/week) position. The scheduled hours are 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday. Weekend availability may be required at times, as needed.

Activities coordinator job duties include:

Plans, organizes, and develops cultural arts/activities programming.
Performs administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms/reports and submitting them to the Arts and Wellness Director.
Coordinates transportation for trips/outings, including transporting residents to and from outside activities using the company vehicle.
Assists in scheduling department/program work hours.
Adheres to the budget process and monitors expenses throughout the year.
Supervises programs as necessary and encourages residents to participate.

Two (2) years of experience in organizing, planning, promoting, and directing cultural arts activities is required.
Two (2) years of experience working with a geriatric population is required.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when needed.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, staff, family members, visitors, and the general public.
