The Opportunity

The Fraud Recovery Senior Supervisor will oversee fraud recovery operations, drive process improvements, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to protect customers and minimize financial losses to the bank. The Senior Supervisor should have strong banking fraud experience, leadership ability, and a proven track record of handling complex cases with professionalism and accuracy. The role oversees recovery workflows, reporting, and process improvements while ensuring compliance with banking regulations and internal controls. The Senior Supervisor will collaborate with various departments to develop strategies that can improve recovery results.

The Work Itself

Supervise day-to-day fraud recovery operations for digital banking channels.
Lead recovery efforts for fraudulent transactions, disputed items, and unauthorized account activity.
Lead the processing of incoming recovery claims and ensure losses are minimized.
Monitor case queues, prioritized high-risk incidents, and ensure timely resolution.
Partner with internal teams such as investigations, risk, compliance, operations, and legal.
Communicate with management, external financial institutions, and law enforcement as needed.
Review trends, identify root causes, and recommend controls to reduce future losses.
Track recovery results, case volumes, and team performance metrics.
Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails.
Support policy, procedure, and workflow updates to improve efficiency.
Supervise and lead the fraud recovery team, providing direction and support on complex cases.
Develop and implement recovery procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide training and mentorship to fraud recovery analysts, fostering professional development.
Ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in fraud prevention, investigations, and recovery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Play a positive role in the development and growth of assigned department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring a highly cross-trained staff.
Monitor staff in daily tasks, operations and quality control; ensures the organization of assigned areas of the department, coordinating available resources (e.g., staff, materials, etc.) for maximum results.

The Skills You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of experience
High school Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years in bank fraud, fraud recovery, and disputes.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, criminal justice, risk management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years fraud investigations experience in a financial institution or an acceptable substitute. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in bank administration, bank fraud investigations, compliance and/or supervisory skills.
Experience should also consist of an in-depth background in bank fraud investigations of all types of forgery claims and schemes (i.e., kite schemes, counterfeit checks, forgeries, wires, ACH, etc.), banking operations, government regulations, knowledge of UCC codes and industry defenses to adverse claims and compliance/operational support.
Ability to analyze transaction patterns, balances, and account activity.
CFE, CAFP, and CFCI Certifications preferred
Ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions with limited guidance.
Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently on projects of high complexity with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and instill trust within the organization.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong decision-making and critical-thinking abilities.
High ethical standards and integrity.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Base Pay Range: $70000 - $120000 USD

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications.
