What We Are Looking For:

Job Description:

Full-Time

Salary: $60,000-$70,000 (based on experience)

Duties may include but are not limited to:

Receive and follow work schedule/instructions from Administrator or Admissions Director as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
Assist in interviewing residents/guardian and obtaining required information and signatures.
Assist in the orientation program for residents/personnel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Admit and prepare identification records for residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain an accurate record of available beds.
Admit, transfer, and discharge residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.
Assist in recording all incidents/accidents. File in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Obtain the resident/guardian’s signature on all required permits, releases, authorizations, etc.
Maintain a current listing of all residents, their level of care, and assigned room numbers.
Provide copies of such listing to nursing service, administrative personnel, governmental agencies and personnel, etc., as necessary.
Attach preadmission documentation to admission papers as appropriate.
Perform secretarial duties as necessary.
Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and records, files, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of work day, etc.
Assist in developing procedures to ensure records are properly completed before filing.
Collect, assemble and check admissions papers. Forward to appropriate departments.
Obtain the resident’s assigned room number. Place on all necessary admission papers.
Forward completed medical records to the Medical Records Department, as necessary.
Maintain a record of authorized information taken from records i.e., type information, name of recipient, date, department, etc.
Abstract information from records as authorized/required for insurance companies, Medicare, etc.
Notify nursing services when the resident has arrived at the facility to assure that a member of the nursing staff escorts the resident to their assigned room.
Maintain various registries as directed including register for admissions and discharge of residents.
Explain to the resident, and/or their guardian, room rates, billing procedures, visitors/guest privileges, restrictions, resident care procedures, etc., as appropriate.
Establish and maintain resident master card file.
Notify nursing service and call for assistance, as necessary, if resident is disturbed/violent on admission or if resident shows symptoms of infectious/communicable diseases.
Refer admissions problems to proper authority, i.e., office supervisor, credit manager, nursing services, etc.
Maintain resident waiting list in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Keep abreast current Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admissions/discharge requirements of healthcare facilities.
Maintain daily and monthly census report as directed.
Maintain current records of all residents admitted/discharged by this facility in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Perform miscellaneous duties and assist in business office personnel as required/directed.
Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of performing the assigned duties of Administrator or Admissions Director.
Other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary to assure that the needs of the facility are met.

Applicants must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma, should be pleasant to work with, be hard working, dependable and provide excellent customer service. Experience in a long term facility preferred but not required.
