TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Hours: 40 per week
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Information Technology, Performs complex (journey-level) information security and cybersecurity analysis work. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Responsibilities involve planning, implementing, and monitoring security measures to protect information systems, networks, and infrastructure. Duties also include safeguarding cybersecurity assets through incident detection and response, threat assessment, cyber intelligence, software security, and vulnerability management activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Performs technical risk assessments and reviews of account permissions, computer data access needs, security violations, programming changes, and new and existing applications and systems, including data center physical security and environment.
- Performs cybersecurity incident detection, analysis, and prevention.
- Performs vulnerability scans of networks and applications to assess effectiveness and identify weaknesses. Performs forensic analysis of information systems and portable devices and forensic recovery of data using assessment tools.
- Monitors systems and procedures to protect data systems and databases from unauthorized access.
- Monitors and analyzes cybersecurity alerts from cybersecurity tools, network devices, and information systems.
- Design, automate, and oversee the deployment and management of security applications and infrastructure.
- Supports the implementation of computer system security plans with agency personnel and outside vendors.
- Coordinate agency policies for encryption of data transmissions and the definition of firewall configuration to protect confidential information in transit.
- Modifies and monitors computer configuration and data files to incorporate new software and virus protection systems, correct errors, or change individual access status.
- Implements continuous automated security compliance capabilities.
- Researches and analyzes cybersecurity threat indicators and their behaviors for the prevention, detection, containment, and correction of data security breaches, and recommends threat mitigation strategies.
- Trains users and promotes security awareness to ensure system security and improve application, server, and network efficiency.
Performs related work as assigned.

- Leads in advising management and users regarding security configurations and procedures.
Leads in developing and reviewing cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines to support agency objectives.

Sign Language: The ultimate required proficiency level for the position using the levels designated in the Signed Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) is INTERMEDIATE. If hired with a sign language proficiency level below this level, you are required to participate in signed communication learning opportunities on a regular basis until you have achieved the sign language proficiency level assigned to your position.

Minimum Qualifications by Level
Qualifications Required – Cybersecurity Analyst II
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in information technology security, computer information systems, computer science, management information systems or a related field is preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another.
Minimum of two (2) years of cybersecurity experience

- Minimum of five (5) years of cybersecurity experience
