PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This role is for the respiratory therapist who is a clinical and professional leader at the bedside. The therapist advances evidence-based practices, leads departmental initiatives, and mentors others to achieve and grow in the role of the professional respiratory therapist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews and monitors respiratory care staffs critical care skills, oversee the activities of staff rotating to the specialty service area, and provide feedback to management team.
Serves as a resource person to respiratory therapists, nurses, and physicians with respect to respiratory equipment or technology, and provides in-servicing as needed.
Serves as a resource person for research and process improvement initiatives.
Engages with physicians in specialty service area.
Performs or assists with specialized procedures particular to the specialty service area.
Serve as a role model by demonstrating core values in all interactions. Creates and builds positive working relationships with leaders of all units to facilitate positive outcomes for all internal/external customers.
Maintains current knowledge of treatment modalities, medical studies, trends, and practices affecting the patients served.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of a CoArc approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
Minimum of three years critical care experience required.
Bachelor's degree required or actively enrolled in a degree program.
Maintains Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential.
Maintains Current BLS Certification.
Current AARC Member preferred.
Respiratory Licensure in the state of practice required (Delaware, Maryland, etc.).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $38.22 - $46.03 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
