Planner I

Location: Cincinnati Area (Primary Office: East Bend Generating Station)
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days per week in office

Position Summary

The Planner I supports the Work Management process by developing schedules and work plans that facilitate safe, efficient, and cost-effective work execution. This role supports daily and weekly operations and maintenance activities, ensures resources are available for work execution, and drives process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Core responsibilities include developing weekly schedules, creating job plans, determining appropriate GL accounting for work orders, creating purchase requests, managing repair processes, and completing single/sole source justification requests.

The Planner I supports operations at the Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky generating stations.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure Purchase Orders are issued for all planned and in-progress field work.
Ensure Preventative Maintenance (PM) work is scheduled and completed on time.
Manage Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) backlogs by priority and site.
Coordinate labor and resources to minimize contractor mobilization costs and reduce rework.
Process monthly accruals for the Midwest CCP region in accordance with Finance requirements (accrue received services over $50K/month when not yet invoiced).
Develop and distribute weekly schedules for Midwest CCP site activities using ARO Routine or O&M accounting.
Support CCP Project Teams with planning and completion of PM and CM work.
Lead bid events for Purchase Orders and service agreements supporting routine and corrective maintenance.
Support accounting and reporting requests related to Rate Case inquiries.
Provide contractor oversight at Midwest generating stations on an as-needed basis.
Monitor work progress, prepare reports, and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Additional Responsibilities

Maintenance Coordination

Establish and maintain maintenance priorities.
Ensure maintenance activities comply with Work Management procedures.
Monitor overall site work execution and communicate status to site leadership.

Contract Resource Coordination

Coordinate and oversee contractor work activities.
Provide field oversight and job coordination.
Remove barriers impacting contractor productivity.
Ensure work plans are executed safely, efficiently, and with high quality.

Planning

Develop detailed work plans that support barrier-free execution.
Verify materials and resources are available before work begins.
Improve work planning processes to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Communicate regularly with Supervisors and Equipment Experts to ensure job plans remain current and prioritized appropriately.

Required Qualifications

Basic knowledge of power plant operations and Work Management processes.
Working knowledge of company computer systems used for Work Management.
Basic scheduling experience.
Strong time management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead meetings effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using:
Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
Maximo
Power BI
Experience presenting information and facilitating meetings.
Working knowledge of power generation systems, equipment, and plant operations.
Ability to work independently in a leadership capacity.
Experience interpreting and analyzing financial data.
5+ years of plant operations, maintenance, or Work Management experience.
Financial and accounting knowledge.
2+ years of contract management experience.
2+ years of project management experience.
Proficiency with Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Ability to read, inspect, calculate, analyze, retain information, and make sound decisions.
