Full Job Description

Work is performed on site. Work location is in Killeen, TX.

Job Summary

Maintain accounts using common accounting processes and tools. Perform a combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions. Provide excellent communication and coordination with internal and external customers. Maintain familiarity with organizational commitments under programs and contracts to ensure accurate and effective invoicing and payment.

Essential Tasks/Functions:

Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
Code documents according to company procedures.
Perform financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.
Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
Match order forms with invoices and record the necessary information.
Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks.
Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
Reconcile records of bank transactions.
Prepare purchase orders and expense reports.
Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.
Communicate efficiently with supervisors and other team members

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

Experience: Two to four years of previous Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping
Background: Must pass a background investigation

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Adobe

Other:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized with attention to detail
Good project and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Degree in Accounting or Finance
Professional Licensure/Certifications: None

Experience: QuickBooks, Military, Aviation Industry, Healthcare Industry
