Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and standards.
Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pans, and food processors safely and efficiently.
Follow food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients for daily specials and ensuring consistency in food production.
Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling techniques and safety protocols at all times.
Contribute to high-volume production by efficiently managing multiple tasks during busy service periods.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment while supporting overall kitchen organization.
Assist with meal preparation for catering events or large parties, ensuring timely delivery of quality dishes.
Support the dietary department by understanding dietary restrictions and assisting with specialized meal preparations when needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and exceptional food service.

Requirements

Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurants, catering, or dietary departments is highly preferred.
Demonstrated skills in food preparation techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and general cooking methods.
Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely.
Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures is essential.
Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume production environments is advantageous.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
Excellent teamwork skills along with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting colleagues.
Prior experience in fine dining or catering environments is a plus but not required.
