Tax Accountant

Location: Bloomington, IL (On-Site) Salary: $65,000 - $72,000 annually, depending on experience

About the Opportunity: A well-established and growing professional services firm in the Bloomington-Normal area is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, develop technical expertise, and contribute to a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities:

· Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities

· Review financial records and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax reporting

· Assist clients with tax planning strategies and compliance requirements

· Research tax regulations and apply current laws to client situations

· Communicate with clients regarding tax matters, documentation requests, and filing requirements

· Support tax season workflow and year-round accounting engagements

· Maintain accurate workpapers and client records

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

· 1-4 years of tax preparation or public accounting experience preferred

· Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations

· Proficiency with accounting and tax software

· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

· CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred but not required
