About Us

Middle Way House is dedicated to providing immediate, trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Our Crisis Intervention Program offers a range of services, including a 24/7 helpline, on-scene advocacy, and support groups, ensuring survivors receive the care and empowerment they deserve. We work collaboratively with the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault (ICESA) and the Indiana Coalition to Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) to continually enhance and develop our programs.

About the Role
As the Crisis Intervention Services Education and Volunteer Coordinator, you will assist with Crisis Intervention (CI) Program services oversight. Ensuring the development and implementation of all CI ongoing education to agency volunteers, interns, staff, and the community. The CI Program Education and Volunteer Coordinator will work directly with survivors as well as facilitate the management of volunteer services.

Major Job Activities

Direct Services and Volunteer Management

● Take Crisis Line calls and web chats as needed.

● Assist On-Scene Advocacy clients as needed.

● Participate in CI on-call coverage and rotation.

● Ensure CI team presence and facilitation of MWH pre-service orientation.

● Coordinate the presentation and building/maintenance of MWH’s preservice training.

● Schedule and facilitate all staff crisis line and OSA training monthly.

● Assist in developing, plan, and co-facilitating the CI program’s support groups.

● Assist walk-in clients and residents in crisis as needed.

● Develop and provide all CI program training. Schedule all internal and external training and tabling requests.

● Facilitate trainings and presentations to outside organizations and groups

● Maintain confidentiality of all of our clients.

● Conduct additional duties as necessary to fulfill Middle Way House’s mission.

Rape Crisis Center Development

● Assist with the Executive Director and ICESA to enhance and develop MWH’s Rape Crisis Center as needed.

● Regularly engage with ongoing education and professional development.

● Complete stats entry and proper program documentation as needed.

Community Work

● Provide oversight and present community education, awareness, and outreach, especially throughout the month of April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).

● Assist Executive Director in planning and implementation of the annual SAAM Walk.

● Assist in maintaining an active role in Monroe County Sexual Response Team (SART), MCDVC, and Indiana University Sexual Assault Prevention Meetings.

Required Qualifications

● Must be able to complete ICESAHT’s Core 40 Training within 60 days of hire.

● High level of comfort and confidence with public speaking.

● Experience and comfort working with people in crisis.

● Must be highly reliable and able to work well with others.

● Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches to human services, and trauma-informed theories and frameworks.
