JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTING CLERK

LOCATION: BEAUFORT, SC

JOB TYPE: FULL-TIME

REPORTS TO: CFO

DEPARTMENT: FINANCE

The Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in supporting the finance department by ensuring the accuracy of financial records, processing transactions, and supporting overall financial operations. This individual will be responsible for maintaining records by accurately recording transactions, balancing accounts, processing invoices, and assisting in generating financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, values precision, and have the desire to contribute to the financial success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable and Receivable
Process invoices, expense reports, and payment promptly and accurately.
Manage and track accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections resolution to discrepancies.
Maintain vendor and customer accounts, reconciling balances regularly.
Data Entry and Recordkeeping
Enter financial data into accounting software and maintain organized records.
Ensure the accuracy of transactions and compliance with company policies.
Maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical, for financial documents.
Bank Reconciliations
Reconcile bank statements with internal records on a monthly basis.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Generate reports for management as needed, including cash flow statements and expense summaries.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
General Administration Duties
Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal teams.
Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required); post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle, Quickbooks).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS office applications.
Familiarity with accounting standards and practices.

Key Competencies

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving abilities and aptitude for numbers.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
