Nurse Practitioner – Menopause & Midlife Women's Health
Wilmington, NC
Peri & Pause, The Menopause Center
Part-Time to Full-Time | W-2
$60–$65/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Come Practice Women's Healthcare Differently
Peri & Pause, The Menopause Center is growing in Wilmington, and we're looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about women's health and interested in developing expertise in perimenopause and menopause care.
This is an opportunity for an NP who enjoys listening, educating, thinking through complex symptoms, and building meaningful relationships with patients — and who wants the time and environment to practice that way.
Peri & Pause is an NP-founded and NP-led specialty practice created specifically to address the healthcare needs of women at midlife. Our patients come to us because they want to understand what is happening in their bodies, participate in decisions about their care, and receive thoughtful, evidence-based treatment.
We're looking for the right NP to help us bring that model of care to Wilmington.
About the Position
This is a part-time to full-time W-2 position. We anticipate the position beginning part-time and growing as our Wilmington patient population expands.
We offer flexibility in establishing regular clinical days and are open to creating a schedule that works well for both the clinician and our patients. Saturday hours may also be available if mutually desired.
Our visits are intentionally structured to allow time for comprehensive evaluation, education, shared decision-making, and individualized treatment planning.
Clinical care includes:
- Comprehensive perimenopause and menopause consultations
- Menopausal hormone therapy evaluation, initiation, and ongoing management
- Evaluation and management of symptoms associated with the menopause transition
- Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and sexual health concerns
- Bone, heart, metabolic, and long-term health considerations
- Preventive health education and appropriate screening recommendations
- Medication management and follow-up care
- Patient education and shared decision-making
- Collaboration with the Peri & Pause clinical team
Who We're Looking For
First and foremost, we're looking for an excellent clinician.
The ideal candidate is curious, thoughtful, compassionate, comfortable with clinical decision-making, and committed to evidence-based care.
We're looking for someone with:
- Active or eligible North Carolina Nurse Practitioner licensure and appropriate credentials to practice
- At least 2 years of clinical Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Commitment to evidence-based medicine and shared decision-making
- Genuine interest in women's health and midlife medicine
- Desire to continue learning and develop expertise in perimenopause and menopause care
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Interest in helping build and grow our Wilmington location
Experience in women's health, family medicine, internal medicine, primary care, gynecology, or a related field is preferred.
Menopause-specific experience is not required.
Menopause Society certification is a plus, but we are equally interested in finding an experienced clinician who is excited to learn. Specialized education, clinical mentorship, and ongoing professional development in menopause care will be provided.
Why Peri & Pause?
Because we believe there is a better way to care for women at midlife.
Peri & Pause is not a high-volume primary care practice focusing on production or RVUs.
We are a specialty women's healthcare practice centered on comprehensive, evidence-based perimenopause and menopause care.
Our clinicians have the opportunity to spend meaningful time with patients — to listen, educate, discuss treatment options, practice shared decision-making, and develop individualized plans of care.
For an NP interested in women's health, this position offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in one of the most rapidly evolving areas of healthcare while practicing in an environment designed specifically for this patient population.
And because Wilmington is a growing Peri & Pause location, this isn't simply an opportunity to step into someone else's schedule.
It's an opportunity to help us build something.
We want someone who is excited to become part of the Wilmington community, develop relationships with our patients and local healthcare professionals, and grow with the practice over time.
