Job Description
The Sourcing Specialist reports directly to the Global Logistics & CSR Manager and will play a critical role in developing sourcing strategies, strengthening supplier partnerships, improving supply continuity, reducing cost, and supporting growth. The Sourcing Specialist position works closely with vendors, production, accounting, and management to ensure materials are purchased at the best value while maintaining quality standards and delivery schedules. They provide leadership in general warehouse and materials management, handle physical and transactional movement of materials supporting the plant, and service logistics operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to various tasks assigned by the supervisor the following are basic duties and responsibilities:
- Comply with all procedures when receiving customer and vendor products.
· Ensure finished product packaging using visual work instructions according to all regulatory requirements.
· Completion of all required transactional steps to receive and ship material.
· Complete all required paper work for contracted carriers prior to shipment
· Must be knowledgeable about different types of shipping methods.
· Ensures delivery of excellent customer service through accurate processing of orders, communication, and coordinating with other departments to resolve problems
· Interacts with customers and vendors regarding product updates and discrepancies.
· Collaborates with purchasing and assists with tasks and responsibilities when needed.
· Collaborate with accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.
· Runs weekly reports and disseminates to appropriate personnel and customers.
· Creates and maintains internal work orders for operational efficiency.
· Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, components, raw materials, and services
- Identify, qualify, onboard, and develop domestic and international suppliers
- Solicit quotes from vendors, negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQs, and long-term supply agreements
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, and pricing information
- Partner closely with logistics, engineering, operations, planning, quality, and customer service teams to support production growth and new product introduction
- Monitor commodity markets, tariffs, logistics risks, geopolitical impacts, and global supply market trends
- Support risk mitigation strategies including dual sourcing, supplier diversification, inventory strategies, and localization initiatives
- Assist with annual inventory counts and inventory control initiatives
- Maintain sourcing documentation, supplier agreements, and ERP procurement data integrity
Credentials and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred
· 2–5+ years of sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or purchasing experience
- Strong supplier negotiation and commercial management experience
- Understanding of global sourcing, international logistics, tariffs, and supplier risk management
- Strong ERP/MRP and Excel capabilities
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with global suppliers
- Familiarity with supplier development and quality systems
· Understanding of FedEx and UPS shipping methods
- Ability to build effective working relationships with vendors and internal departments.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
· Able to read, write and speak the English language
· U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident Alien
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
· This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
· Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
