Progressive Stamping Press Setup & Troubleshooting Technician

Progressive Dies | Pressroom Setup | Troubleshooting | Technical Growth

Location: Germantown, WI
Full-Time | Overtime Available | Air Conditioned Facility

About the Opportunity

Gromax Precision is seeking a mechanically skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our progressive stamping pressroom team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in stamping press setup, progressive dies, troubleshooting, or die maintenance — or someone with strong mechanical aptitude who wants to grow into a highly skilled technical role.

Unlike large production stamping environments, Gromax specializes in:

Short and medium-run production
Frequent die changeovers
Precision setups
Troubleshooting
Complex customer requirements
Constant variety and problem-solving

This is not a repetitive “push-the-button” production role. Every week brings new setups, new challenges, and opportunities to expand your technical skills.

What You’ll Do

Progressive Die Setup & Press Operations

Setup and troubleshoot progressive stamping dies
Prepare and manage feed lines and coil setups
Optimize press performance and part quality
Support quick and efficient die changeovers
Work closely with operators to improve consistency and uptime

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

Diagnose setup and production issues
Assist operators with quality and process concerns
Work collaboratively with tooling and management teams
Help identify opportunities for process improvement

Die Maintenance & Repair (Optional Growth Area)

Candidates interested in expanding their tooling skills may also assist with:

Die repair
Tool maintenance
Grinding
Milling
Wire EDM
General toolroom support
