Production Manager

Location: Niwot, CO (Onsite)

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Shift: Night Shift

Compensation: $75,000 – $85,000 per year

Reports to: Director of Plant Operations

We craft plant-based products and gluten-free meals using recognizable ingredients, growing from local farmer’s markets into a food manufacturing company providing private label and co-manufacturing services for retail and grocery partners.

Our mission is driven by the transformative power of better food—positively impacting the body, community, and environment through sustainability and responsibly sourced ingredients.

We are looking for a Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production across all areas of the plant.

Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing daily production activities in a food manufacturing environment. This role oversees production supervisors and up to 100 employees, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, quality, and cost targets are consistently met.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving performance, developing teams, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily production operations including raw material preparation, processing, and packaging
Ensure production schedules and output targets are met consistently
Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and frontline employees
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety standards
Ensure adherence to GMP, HACCP, and all food safety regulations
Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain product quality and compliance standards
Monitor staffing levels, performance, and employee development needs
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and efficiency
Assist with product launches and commercialization efforts with the R&D team
Serve as a key member of the HACCP and food safety program team
Provide backup support to QA Supervisors and Plant Operations leadership as needed
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure production goals are met

QualificationsRequired

Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or production plant operations
Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of GMP and HACCP food safety standards
Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production environment
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to work flexible hours based on production needs

Preferred

Experience with cook/chill or kettle cook processes
Experience in SQF Level 3 facilities
Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing systems
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Experience working with regulatory agencies (FDA, USDA, OSHA, etc.)
Demonstrated track record of improving safety, quality, and operational performance

Schedule

Monday–Friday
9-hour shifts
Weekends as needed based on production demand

Requires hands-on presence on the production floor
