Full Job Description

minibar is an indoor 18-hole minigolf course with a full service sports bar & restaurant, and space to host community events.

We are looking for an experienced cook to be responsible for leading the preparation and cooking orders for daily operations in accordance with portion and quality standards specified by minibar and their brand ethos of “teeing up fun and flavor.” In addition, they provide sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues. This role will report to the Food & Beverage Director.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures and maintains the highest quality when preparing the menu items.
Performs testing and evaluation of new recipes.
Assist with inventories and purchasing.
Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes. Prepares all food items according to standard recipes.
Acknowledges any special requests and prepares the menu item accordingly.
Has ability to create specials with assistance from chefs using the highest standards.
Carefully inspects, selects, and uses only food items of the highest standard in the preparation of all menu items.
Follows the proper storage standards.
Prepares food using the appropriate portion size, cut and cooking method.
Is able to butcher meats and prepare sauces and stocks.
Advises supervisor of low inventory items and assists in receiving and storing items.
Maintains sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and minibar requirements.
Cleans entire station at the end of the shift and leaves station in ready to operate condition for next shift.
Reports all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to management.
Assists chefs in any projects that need to be done.
Communicates effectively with the department managers and restaurant staff.
Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and policies.
Upholds all safety standards of minibar.
Is able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
Is able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 75 lbs.
Is able to stand/walk up to 6-10 hours per day.
Is a team player and interacts with all guests and fellow Associates in a positive and friendly manner.
Make sure the prep list for the next day is prepared.
Is able to lead the team in expediting, filling tickets and plating

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least 2 years cooking experience preferred in a high volume/upscale casual restaurant.
Ability to handle food, objects, products and utensils
Ability to bend, stoop and kneel.
Pleasant and attentive personality.
Attention to detail.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to adapt to changing guest needs.
Ability to operate dishwasher machines.
Baking experience a plus
