Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient care, and ensuring compliance with all pharmaceutical regulations. Your expertise will help deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate pharmacy services across various healthcare settings, including hospital, LTC (Long-Term Care), and community pharmacies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient well-being while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Duties

Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including sterile IV admixture and compounding medications using aseptic techniques.
Assist with medication inventory management, including stock replenishment, data entry into pharmacy software systems, and maintaining proper storage conditions.
Support patient care activities by providing medication information, answering questions, and ensuring proper medication intake procedures are followed.
Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical regulatory standards, including drug regulation laws and state and federal pharmacy laws.
Perform pharmaceutical calculations to verify correct dosages and measurements for patient-specific prescriptions.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times while handling sensitive medical information in accordance with healthcare regulations.
Participate in hospital or community pharmacy operations by supporting medication administration processes and documenting all activities accurately.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician with LTC pharmacy experience, hospital pharmacy experience, or community pharmacy background preferred.
Knowledge of clinical pharmacy practices, pharmacological terminology, and acute care procedures is highly desirable.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required.
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for data entry and medication tracking is essential.
Strong understanding of sterile IV compounding, aseptic techniques, and sterile IV admixture procedures.
Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately and efficiently.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and service delivery.
Knowledge of drug regulation policies, medical terminology, and hospital or healthcare environment protocols.
Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy while working under pressure in fast-paced settings such as hospital or ICU environments.
