✔️ Monday–Friday ✔️ Approximately 20–25 hours per week ✔️ Ideal start around 1:30/2:00 PM, before the children arrive home ✔️ End time generally between 5:00–7:00 PM, depending on parents' schedules ✔️ Approximately one later evening weekly or every other week for date-night coverage ✔️ Some flexibility available for the right candidate

A warm, busy family in Miller Place is seeking a smart, motivated, and proactive Family Assistant/Nanny to become a trusted part of their household long-term.

The children are independent, school-aged girls, so this is not a traditional full-day nanny position. The ideal candidate will come in before the girls get home to help reset and organize the household, then transition into after-school care, activities, homework, and dinner.

The family already has a professional cleaning service , so this is NOT a deep-cleaning or housekeeping position. They are looking for someone who enjoys creating order, staying one step ahead, and helping make family life run more smoothly.

Family Assistant Responsibilities:
✔️ Daily household reset and light tidying
✔️ Family laundry and keeping children's closets/drawers organized
✔️ Grocery orders, household restocking, and occasional errands/returns
✔️ Simple meal prep and preparing school lunches
✔️ Keeping track of children's schedules and shared family calendar
✔️ Helping the household stay organized and prepared for the week
✔️ Light pet care such as letting the dogs outside
✔️ Occasional organization projects as time allows

After-School Responsibilities:
✔️ Meeting the girls after the bus
✔️ Driving to nearby activities as needed
✔️ Homework support and supervision
✔️ Helping coordinate playdates and activities
✔️ Preparing/reheating dinner
✔️ Keeping afternoons fun, structured, and engaging
✔️ Encouraging independence and limiting excessive screen time

✔️ Proactive and naturally notices what needs attention
✔️ Organized, efficient, and able to work independently
✔️ Warm, upbeat, energetic, and genuinely enjoys school-aged children
✔️ Excellent communicator who keeps parents updated
✔️ Comfortable balancing childcare and family-assistant responsibilities
✔️ Must drive with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
✔️ Comfortable with dogs
✔️ CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification
✔️ Prior nanny, family assistant, or household management experience preferred
✔️ Looking for a long-term position

Additional Details:
✔️ Professional cleaners come weekly — no deep cleaning required
✔️ Children are in school during the day, giving the family assistant dedicated time to complete household tasks before they arrive home
✔️ Parents own a local business and have some flexibility in their schedules
✔️ Family will provide a household credit card for approved groceries, errands, and supplies
✔️ Driving to activities is shared, so the nanny will not necessarily handle every pickup/drop-off
✔️ Family is looking for someone who can eventually learn their routines and take ownership without needing a detailed daily task list
