Job Summary:
Diab Americas, an AS9100 certified facility, located in Desoto, Texas (15 minutes from downtown Dallas) is seeking an experienced Senior CAM Programmer/Set Up Machinist. This position is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC programs and machine setups for complex production and prototype components. This position prepares customer CAD models for manufacturing, develops machining strategies, proves out new programs, designs and improves workholding, and provides technical support to production personnel. The role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and ensure parts meet customer specifications.

Eligibility Requirements:
Required:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Minimum three (3) years of CNC machining and setup experience.
· Minimum two (2) years of hands-on Mastercam programming experience.
· Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines.
· Ability to pass standard criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
· Must be ITAR compliant.
Preferred:
· Associate degree or technical certificate in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
· Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis CNC machining.
· Experience with CNC probing systems and machine inspection processes.
· Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification if required.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Develop, modify, verify, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam from customer CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing requirements.
· Perform machine setup, prove-out, and validation of new and revised CNC programs.
· Select tooling, workholding, machining strategies, feeds, and speeds to maximize quality, efficiency, and productivity.
· Design, modify, and improve fixtures and workholding solutions to enhance setup efficiency and repeatability.
· Optimize machining processes to improve cycle time, tool life, machine utilization, and part quality.
· Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, fixture, and setup issues during production.
· Support new product introduction (NPI), First Article Inspection (FAI), and process development activities.
· Maintain CNC program revisions, setup documentation, tooling records, and manufacturing documentation.
· Provide technical guidance and training to CNC operators and setup personnel as needed.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
· Comply with company quality, safety, environmental, and operational policies.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
CAM Programming:
· Proficient with Mastercam, including 2D, 3D, and preferably multi-axis programming.
· Experience developing optimized toolpaths, selecting tooling, establishing feeds and speeds, defining stock and fixtures, verifying toolpaths, and post-processing CNC programs.
· Ability to read, modify, troubleshoot, and manually edit CNC G-code.
· Ability to develop machining programs from customer CAD models, engineering drawings, and supplied geometry.
CNC Machining & Setup
· Experience setting up CNC machining centers, including work offsets, tool offsets, fixture alignment, and machine verification.
· Ability to select tooling, workholding, and machining strategies based on material, geometry, and production requirements.
· Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, fixture, programming, and setup issues.
· Experience performing first-piece validation and optimizing machining processes for quality, repeatability, tool life, and cycle time.
Blueprint Reading & Inspection
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T requirements, and inspection criteria.
· Proficient using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, gauge pins, gauge blocks, and other precision inspection equipment
· Ability to perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections while identifying dimensional discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
Computer & Technical Skills
· Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
· Experience navigating CNC machine controls and interfaces.
· Ability to manage electronic CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.
· Experience working with CAD/CAM software and common CAD file formats including STEP, STP, IGS, and IGES.
· Experience with SolidWorks, Rhino, or equivalent CAD software is preferred.
