Full Job Description

JCI US Inc. is the US subsidiary of Japan Communications Inc., the pioneer of the MVNO model in telecommunications. In the US, we focus on three core areas: secure, private connectivity for IoT devices, SIM card and local 4G/5G networks, and research and development of new solutions and technologies to be used across the JCI Group. We are a small team in the US and we operate like a start-up, with a strong team ethos and a get-it-done attitude.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Company's day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities. This position helps ensure accurate financial reporting while maintaining the integrity of the Company's financial records and supporting continuous improvement of accounting processes. The Staff Accountant works closely with the CFO and other departments to support the Company's financial objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Process and maintain Accounts Payable, including invoice review, coding, payment processing, and vendor reconciliations.

· Process and maintain Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, cash applications, collections, and customer account reconciliations.

· Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet account reconciliations.

· Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met.

· Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management.

· Assist with cash management activities, including cash reporting and account reconciliations.

· Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

· Ensure compliance with Company accounting policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.

· Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.

· Analyze accounting transactions, identify discrepancies, and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

· Support the continued automation and enhancement of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.

· Maintain organized accounting records and documentation in accordance with Company policies.

· Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting and billing issues.

· Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

· Two (2) or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.

· Experience with general ledger accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.

· Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

· Experience using accounting and ERP systems.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal departments.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.

· Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.

HIGHLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS:

· Experience with AP and AR workflow automation.

· Experience with ERP implementations or system enhancements.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial reporting functions.

· Experience supporting month-end close and annual audits.

· Manufacturing, distribution, or technology industry accounting experience.

· Experience identifying and implementing accounting process improvements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and using standard office equipment. Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end close, year-end close, audit periods, or other business-critical deadlines.

PAY: $70,000 - $75,000 annually
