About us

Blithe Industries is a small textile business in Huntington Beach, CA. We specialize in manufacturing high quality soft goods, with an emphasis on large Industrial Covers

Blithe Industries is looking for an experienced sewer/seamstress to join our team. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, has a strong work ethic, and is able to work independently. You will be responsible for the fabrication and production of materials and accessories. The ideal candidate will have strong sewing experience, be reliable, have great attention to detail, and be able to produce high quality work.

Responsibilities

Sew and fabricate large Industrial vinyl covers based on specifications and design requirements.
Sew and fabricate parts and hardware covers.
Use industrial sewing machines and tools to create precise and durable stitches.
Collaborate with our design and production team to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
Pay attention to detail and maintain high craftsmanship standards by performing quality checks on finished products.
Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe, ensuring proper storage and inventory management of materials.
Troubleshoot and resolve any sewing or fabric-related issues that may arise during the production process.

Requirements:

Proven 5+ years experience as a Sewer/Seamstress/Fabricator
Comfortable using industrial sewing machines.
Must be able to push and pull heavy fabric covers and sew them.
Strong sewing skills, including pattern layout, cutting, stitching, and finishing.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to read and understand measurements
Must be willing to learn how to use a Weld Master hot air welding machine or already know how.
Must be able to stand and move about the shop for extended periods of time
Must be able to read, write and speak English (bilingual preferred)
Knowledge of operating an automatic cutting table and/or fabric welder is a bonus. (able to weld vinyl ex bounce houses)

Nice to have:

3+ years of hands-on experience operating hot air welding machines, especially Weldmaster.
Strong working knowledge of welding heavy-duty vinyl, PVC, and other industrial fabrics.
Ability to handle large fabric panels, lift up to 50 lbs, and be on your feet for extended periods.

Experience/Education/Licenses/Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Basic knowledge of marine industry (preferred)
Basic understanding of textile machinery (preferred)
Basic understanding of computer software (preferred)

Pay:
To be determined by experience. Negotiable.
