Local Candidates Only — Must Reside in the Phoenix Metro Area or Surrounding Communities

We are seeking an experienced senior-level IT professional to lead the management and ongoing development of our internal technology environment. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing in-house networks, security systems, servers, and cloud infrastructure, while also overseeing help desk IT support operations. The ideal candidate will provide timely and accurate second- and third-level technical support, take ownership of core IT administration, and play a key role in strengthening and advancing the organization’s overall infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly as well as initiative-taking, ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to diagnose various, complex and business-impacting technical issues in a timely and accurate manner and prioritize same.
Monitor and respond promptly to requests and escalations received through Freshdesk/Freshworks ticketing system and by phone, resolving issues to user and business satisfaction, demonstrating people and communication skills, including chat and phone etiquette, active listening and internal customer care using RMM support tools.
Manage desktop support operations and mentor and supervise technician(s), providing guidance related to hardware, networking, software and systems and triaging of support requests and activities.
Provide printer support for a variety of types of networked and SOHO printers (mainly HP, Zebra) and configurations.
Provide support for and management of Android and Apple devices (macOS, iOS, iPadOS) in addition to Windows 11.
Management of hybrid Active Directory-Azure Active Directory/Entra Connect user environment including on-premise AD, Microsoft 365 and AAD/Entra, Microsoft security suite and solutions (Defender XDR, Purview, Sentinel) and Exchange Online mail server.
Administration of on-prem VMware ESXi hosts and Azure cloud tenant including resources like storage accounts and Windows and Linux virtual servers with operational usage of PowerShell and Linux/UNIX CLI.
Using platforms and tools like Microsoft Defender, Group Policy and Intune to manage and secure servers and endpoints.
Perform general and wireless network administration of multi-site SASE/SD-WAN environment involving periodic need to resolve problems related to network appliances, cabling, routing and switching as well as DNS, DHCP, etc. including (Cato Networks) firewall administration.
Work as part of cross-functional IT team to identify and resolve infrastructure-specific problems impacting ERP systems and ability to provide some support for custom UNIX (AIX)-based ERP solution with understanding business processes as they relate to ERP transactions.
Install, modify and repair computer and server hardware, peripherals and software with additional security focus of addressing vulnerabilities and implementing security recommendations as needed and where possible.
Ownership of most backup processes including restore operations, familiarity with backup and BCDR best practices.
Working with MSP and other third parties or vendors on IT items like licensing and third-party support.
Ability to oversee employee on-boarding and off-boarding procedures and update when or where necessary.
Supporting cloud-based company Windstream OfficeSuite UCaaS phone system and Contact Center Services call center and Mitel IP phones.
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation; after-hours and weekend project work will sometimes be required when and if needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Education and/or Experience

4-year Information Technology or strongly related degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.) required. In lieu of degree, may accept a combination of job-related work experience and job-related education including IT professional certifications (e.g. CompTIA, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle).

Special Skills/Knowledge

Experience managing and troubleshooting computer networks, IT security, servers and cloud infrastructure.
Preferred extensive prior experience in IT operations, support and administration.

Familiarity with application software development/sustaining using tools including but not limited to:

Microsoft Cloud (365 incl. OneDrive/SharePoint, AAD/Entra, Azure, Defender, Exchange, Intune, Purview, Sentinel, Teams)
Microsoft Office suite

Backup solutions and appliances (Datto BCDR/SIRIS, TrueNAS)

OfficeSuite UC, Contact Center Services or similar UCaaS phone system and/or call center
Freshdesk/Freshworks or similar ticketing system
Oracle NetSuite ERP
Aruba/HPE network and server hardware

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

General office environment with standard office equipment.
Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time.
The working environment is generally favorable.
Lighting and temperature are adequate.
