Paralegal – Estate Planning & Tax Law
Charleston, SC (Onsite / Hybrid flexibility)
Full-Time

Must-Haves

5+ years of paralegal experience focused on estate planning and/or probate
Strong knowledge of estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives)
Experience supporting estate administration and/or probate matters
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work directly with clients on sensitive financial and legal matters
High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and file management

Paralegal – Estate Planning & Tax Law

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join a growing estate planning and tax law practice in Charleston, South Carolina. This role works closely with attorneys and clients to prepare, coordinate, and execute comprehensive estate plans while supporting more advanced tax and wealth planning strategies.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, client-focused, and comfortable handling complex and confidential financial information. This position offers exposure to sophisticated estate and tax planning work beyond traditional paralegal responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
Assist attorneys with advanced estate planning and tax strategy matters
Gather and analyze client financial information, including assets, liabilities, and ownership structures
Prepare summaries and documentation supporting estate plans and strategies
Coordinate execution of estate planning documents and client signing meetings
Support trust funding and asset transfer processes
Assist with probate and estate administration as needed
Maintain organized client files and track deadlines to ensure timely completion
Communicate directly with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals involved in estate planning

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a tax law firm or exposure to tax-related matters
Familiarity with estate tax planning, wealth transfer, or capital tax mitigation strategies
Experience with estate planning software such as WealthCounsel or similar platforms
Experience with Clio or other legal practice management systems
Paralegal certificate or related legal education
