Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Java Developer for a direct hire opportunity in Buffalo, NY with a high-performance engineering team building secure, scalable, cloud-native software solutions. This role is ideal for a backend developer with 2 to 5 years of professional experience who is ready to move beyond routine application development and take ownership of complex systems, API-driven services, and mission-critical business applications.

This opportunity offers the chance to work in a collaborative engineering environment with supportive technical leadership, strong cross-functional teamwork, and exposure to modern software practices. You will partner with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, QA professionals, and other technical stakeholders to deliver reliable applications in secure and highly regulated environments.

The ideal candidate will enjoy clean code, performance optimization, observability, and solving challenging technical problems. This is a strong fit for someone who wants career growth, meaningful project ownership, and the opportunity to contribute to architecture and design decisions while working with modern Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases.
Build backend services supporting real-time applications, asynchronous workflows, and high-volume transactional systems.
Participate in architecture and design discussions related to service decomposition, schema design, dependency management, and system monitoring.
Optimize application performance through effective logging, caching, multithreading, exception handling, and troubleshooting practices.
Collaborate with React developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams to deliver secure, high-quality full-stack software solutions.
Support production systems and travel to client locations throughout the United States and occasionally Canada for deployments, issue resolution, training, and client support.

Compensation and Benefits

Direct hire opportunity.
Salary range: $85,000 to $140,000 annually, based on experience, technical expertise, and overall qualifications.
Location: Buffalo, NY 14202.
Work arrangement: On-site, with hybrid or remote work considered for the right candidate.
Travel required, primarily within the United States with occasional travel to Canada.
