Berberian Nut Company is seeking an experience Maintenance Technician to join our nut processing plant team!
The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment, facility systems, and utilities. This role helps keep operations running safely and efficiently by reducing downtime, solving complex problems, and supporting continuous improvement. Working with minimal supervision, this position also provides guidance to other technicians and helps prioritize maintenance work.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment, facility systems, and utilities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and complete repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance to keep equipment running and avoid breakdowns.
- Respond to equipment failures and help identify root causes to prevent repeat issues.
- Read and use technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to support repairs.
- Build, install, or modify parts and equipment as needed.
- Work with vendors or contractors on complex repairs or installations.
- Support equipment improvements to increase reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Help update maintenance procedures and work standards.
- Provide guidance and support to other technicians and assist with training.
- Help prioritize daily maintenance work and support scheduling.
- Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, GMP, etc.).
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow proper safety procedures.
- Keep accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage.
- Communicate equipment issues and repair needs to leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or processing.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Experience with fabrication, welding, and equipment repair.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Occasional work at heights or in confined or elevated locations may be required, with potential exposure to electrical or mechanical hazards.
- Periodic exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals used in processing, cleaning, or maintenance activities.
- Noise levels are often high and may require the use of hearing protection.
- Work hours may vary based on and may include day, night, weekend, holiday, or extended shifts to support continuous operations.
- Travel by vehicle may be required for other company facilities, suppliers, or operational sites.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hard hats, safety footwear, hearing protection, and protective clothing will be provided in accordance with applicable laws and company policy. Employees are required to wear designated PPE when tasks or work areas require it; compliance with PPE requirements is mandatory.
