Accounting Clerk

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Full-Time | First Shift | Monday-Friday

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with our client in West Chester, Ohio to identify a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk for a first-shift, contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced office environment.

The Accounting Clerk will assist with a variety of accounting and administrative functions, including accounts payable support, invoice processing, account reconciliation, and financial record maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

Process invoices, verify supporting documentation, and assist with accounts payable activities

Enter financial data accurately into accounting systems and maintain organized records

Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies as needed

Assist with account reconciliations and month-end closing activities

Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding before processing

Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and accounting documentation

Process expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies

Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, account questions, and invoice discrepancies

Maintain vendor files and update account information as needed

Assist with accounts receivable functions, including posting payments and tracking outstanding balances

Support audit requests by gathering and organizing financial documentation

Perform data entry, filing, scanning, and other administrative duties within the accounting department

Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records

Qualifications

Previous accounting clerk, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or finance support experience preferred

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently while supporting department objectives
