Full Job Description

Are you tired of production work, doing the same thing over and over? We guarantee new challenges every week. Raptor Manufacturing specializes in manufacturing tools such as assembly fixtures, trim tools, hot form dies, hammer dies and holding fixtures. Custom or prototype designs are not uncommon for us, so we are looking for teammates with excellent technical skills and pride in both their work and workspace.

A Conventional Machinist will perform duties to set up and operate a diverse collection of manually controlled equipment to shape and finish steel, invar, aluminum and non-metallic materials into quality fixtures with exacting measurements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· Operate manufacturing machinery such as Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, or surface grinder

· Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines per set up documentation

· Read and understand blueprints, drawings, and other engineering information

· Ensure that a job is ready by checking setups, tools, parts, and materials

· Validate finished work against requirements and clean/deburr as needed

· Team players obtain information for upcoming jobs by discussing with Leads and coworkers

· Adhere to all Raptor Manufacturing's safety rules, regulations, quality standards and procedures

· Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules and regulations

· Regularly clean and maintain equipment and machinery

· Complete necessary paperwork and clocking within MRP system

· Operate forklifts or overhead hoists when needed (after proper training and certification)

Qualifications and Requirements:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Minimum of three years in machining or other related industry

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form

· Must have and maintain personal tools for fabrication

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages

· Understanding of measurement tools such as rulers, tapes, or calipers will be verified.

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Must be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Background Check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
