Project Management Team

Project Coordinator | Assistant Project Manager | Project Manager

Architectural Wood Design, Inc. is a growing commercial architectural millwork company looking to add high-performing people to our Project Management team.

We are open to different levels of experience. Maybe you’re already an experienced Project Manager looking for a company where you can have more impact. Maybe you’re earlier in your career but have the intelligence, drive, organization, and communication skills to become a great PM.

We care more about your ability and mindset than having the perfect résumé.

Our clients don’t hire us just to build millwork. They hire us because we make complex projects easier. Our goal is to build a Project Management team so strong that our clients trust us with their most important projects.

This Isn’t a Paper-Pushing PM Position

Our administrative and support teams handle many of the transactional tasks so our Project Managers can focus on what actually drives a successful project:

The client. The schedule. The budget. The margin. And anticipating problems before they happen.

Great Project Managers don’t wait for problems to reach their desk. They get involved early, understand the project, ask questions, identify risks, communicate constantly, and solve issues before they become expensive.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Own the financial performance of your projects. Understand the budget, track costs, protect margin, and make decisions with profitability in mind.
Deliver exceptional client service. Build relationships, respond quickly, communicate proactively, and make our clients’ jobs easier.
Over-communicate. Clients and internal teams shouldn’t have to chase you for information.
Anticipate problems. Look ahead, identify risks early, and develop solutions before those risks affect schedule, cost, or the client.
Own your project dates. Maintain accurate work-order dates and make sure engineering, production, and installation have the information they need at the right time.
Understand the entire project. Don’t just manage what’s happening today—know what’s coming next and what could get in the way.
Use technology to manage your work. We operate with ERP software and digital workflows, so you need to be comfortable learning and working within technology-based systems.
Coordinate with our internal teams. Work closely with engineering, production, installation, estimating, and company leadership to keep projects moving.
Take ownership. When something goes wrong, the goal isn’t to explain why it happened. The goal is to figure out what we’re going to do about it.

Experience

Commercial construction, architectural millwork, cabinetry, subcontracting, or project management experience is valuable—but it isn’t the only path into this position.

Depending on your experience and demonstrated ability, you may join our team as a:

Project Coordinator → Assistant Project Manager → Project Manager
