Full Job Description

This part‑time Accounts Payable Clerk role is a 13‑week contract based in Rancho Mirage, California, focused on accurate invoice processing, vendor reconciliation, and month‑end reporting for a respected healthcare organization. The position offers a flexible schedule, collaboration with finance and purchasing teams, and potential for contract extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently
Verify invoices, purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation
Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
Prepare payments in accordance with established accounting procedures
Maintain organized vendor files and financial records
Reconcile vendor statements and respond to payment inquiries
Assist with month‑end closing activities and accounts payable reporting
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, to complete daily responsibilities
Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and finance departments to support daily operations

Qualifications:

High school diploma, GED, or higher-level degree required
Minimum of three years of accounts payable experience in a centralized purchasing and receiving environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to use a ten‑key calculator by touch
Typing speed of 40–50 words per minute
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail‑oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information
Strong time management and multitasking abilities
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
