Full Job Description

Compensation & Lifestyle

$55,000 - $65,000+ On-Target Earnings (OTE)

Base Salary: $48,000 guaranteed
Health Benefit: $6,450 Annual Tax-Free QSEHRA ($537/month to offset healthcare costs)
Uncapped Performance Bonuses: Tiered enrollment and retention bonuses ranging from $1,200 to $10,800+ annually based on center growth and lifetime value metrics.

Set, Predictable Schedule (No rotating shifts!)

Monday – Thursday: 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM
Saturday: 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Friday & Sunday: Always Off

About the Role

Are you a driven, sales-minded leader who wants the autonomy to run a business?

Mathnasium of Memphis East is looking for a dynamic Center Director to take ownership of our highly successful learning center. This is not a passive desk job or a simple tutoring position. The Center Director is the highest level of leadership in the center and is responsible for managing the educational, customer, administrative, sales, and employee aspects of the business. You will act as the General Manager, driving revenue, building relationships with parents in the 38117 community, and leading a team of instructors to deliver exceptional math education.

What You Will Do

Sales & Lead Conversion

Serve as the primary sales manager, taking full accountability for center enrollment and lead conversion.
Receive leads in person, by phone, and via email, utilizing our CRM software and the MATH model to sell the Mathnasium program.
Manage local marketing strategies, create mass marketing campaigns, and build partnerships with local schools and community organizations to generate new leads.

Customer Success & Retention

Act as the primary point of contact for parents, holding conferences and making frequent phone calls to discuss student progress and resolve concerns.
Create additional program value and actively seek to satisfy customer needs to maximize student retention and loyalty.

Team Leadership ("Leader of Leaders")

Screen, hire, train, motivate, and develop a team of instructors and assistant directors to fulfill center staffing needs.
Create an organizational culture that fosters collaboration, and empower employees by delegating major responsibilities to trained leaders.
Effectively schedule staff to handle varying volumes of students while maintaining optimal labor margins.

Operations & Education

Run the day-to-day operations of the center, ensuring it runs efficiently and the facility is clean, engaging, and conducive to learning.
Administer mathematical assessments, identify student learning gaps, and prescribe customized Learning Plans. (Note: We will train you fully on the Mathnasium Method—you just need a foundational understanding of math and a passion for education!)
Monitor center key performance indicators (KPIs) and actively manage center profitability.

The People Manager: You have experience hiring, scheduling, and developing hourly or part-time teams. You are a leader capable of building trust and inspiring others.
The Problem Solver: You do not waiver in the face of a challenge and are resourceful in overcoming obstacles.
The Communicator: You have high emotional intelligence and can navigate conversations with concerned parents just as easily as you can coach a struggling employee.

Requirements

Previous experience in sales, membership sales, retail management, or educational administration is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing and scheduling a team.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple administrative tasks simultaneously.
A passion for helping children succeed academically.
Must be able to commit to the set operational schedule listed above.
