Full Job Description

Little Knight's Learning Center is seeking a Full-Time, Year-Round, Lead Preschool Teacher with a passion to teach 3-5 year old's in a faith-based preschool setting. Responsibilities will include developing and implementing daily learning activities, providing a safe and nurturing learning environment as well as active supervision of students.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum: Associate degree in Early Childhood, or a related degree with some coursework in Early Childhood, or a Child Development Associate Credential.
· Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood.
· Experience teaching preschool-age children required.
· Preferred: CPR certification

REQUIRED PERSONAL QUALITIES

1. Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior.

2. Agree with the school's Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.

3. Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, integrity, courtesy, flexibility, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, punctuality, confidentiality, personal appearance (modesty), and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God's Biblical standards for sexual conduct.

4. Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their children's education and be prepared to assist them in that task.

5. Be a member in good standing at a local, evangelical church.

6. Use acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speak with a clear articulation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.

· Provide a safe, nurturing, and educationally stimulating environment to facilitate learning.

· Establish and maintain a positive interpersonal relationship with all children, parents, and fellow staff members.

· Provide active supervision of students in the classroom and on the playground.

· Develop and maintain a consistent daily routine.

· Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and routines.

· Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and program philosophy.

· Promote and foster social-emotional development in all students

· Complete age-appropriate developmental assessments

· Assist children with personal care routines as needed.

· Attend in-service training, conferences, staff meetings, and parent meetings as required.

· Perform general classroom cleaning duties as necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, walk, talk, and hear

· Operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment

· Use hands and reach with hands and arms.

· Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
