Full Job Description

Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Transplant PCU
Location: Columbus, OH
Shift: Nights | 3x12s | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Contract: 13 Weeks (Tentative)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Transplant Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 13-week travel assignment. This unit specializes in caring for adult patients recovering from abdominal organ transplants and other complex medical conditions. (BI02)

Job Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a Transplant PCU.
Monitor and care for kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients.
Assess and manage patients with AKI, GI bleeds, infections, uncontrolled diabetes, and transplant rejection concerns.
Perform telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR.
Float to equivalent or lower-acuity units as needed.

Requirements

Active Ohio RN License (Required)
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown experience
Strong Stepdown/PCU experience required (ICU experience not required)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience with:
Telemetry Monitoring
Dysrhythmia Interpretation
IV Therapy & Peripheral/Central Line Management

Kidney, Liver, and Pancreas Transplants
Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
Transplant Rejection
Hepatology Patients
GI Bleeds
Infections
Uncontrolled Diabetes

Assignment Details

13-Week Contract
Night Shift (3x12)
Every Other Weekend
Floating Required
Adult Patient Population
Epic EMR
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions accepted)
COVID-19 vaccine not required

Duties

Provide expert nursing assessments and continuous monitoring of transplant patients in the PCU, ensuring optimal recovery and stability.
Administer medications, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
Manage complex procedures such as catheterizations, tube feedings, ventilator management, and wound suturing with precision.
Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic and Cerner for accurate medical documentation, lab result tracking, and discharge planning.

Pay: $55.58 - $62.00 per hour
