Full Job Description

HR Payroll Coordinator for a Great Company located on the west side of Columbus/Hilliard area.

Flexible schedule: 30-40 hours/week.
Permanent/Direct Hire
Starting Pay Rate: $24-27/hr.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Payroll Coordinator to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will oversee the accurate processing and management of payroll functions, ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in payroll systems and accounting software, along with a solid understanding of HRIS platforms and labor law compliance. This position plays a vital role in maintaining confidential employee information, ensuring timely payroll processing, and supporting overall financial accuracy within the organization.

Duties

Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain and update employee records within HRIS platforms, including Kronos, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian.
Reconcile payroll data with accounting records using spreadsheets and accounting software like QuickBooks or general ledger systems.
Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws by applying current tax law regulations to payroll procedures.
Calculate and process payroll taxes, deductions, benefits contributions, and other adjustments accurately.
Prepare detailed reports on payroll activities for management review and audit purposes.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies or issues related to time & attendance systems.
Handle sensitive information with confidentiality while adhering to data entry protocols.
Assist in year-end reporting processes such as W-2s and 1099s, ensuring compliance with tax requirements.
Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation related to payroll transactions.

Experience

Minimum of three years of experience in payroll management or corporate accounting roles involving payroll processing.
Proficiency in popular payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, or PeopleSoft.
Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, tax law, and payroll tax regulations applicable across different jurisdictions.
Demonstrated experience with accounting software including QuickBooks and general ledger accounting practices.
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and time & attendance systems used for tracking employee hours.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and analyze financial data effectively.
Understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles including journal entries involving debits & credits.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
