Savko is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve the company's safety program across its construction, materials, and operational divisions. This hands-on leadership role partners closely with field crews, superintendents, project managers, and company leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations while fostering a culture where safety is more than a priority…It's a core value.

What You'll Do:

· Lead and manage the company's safety program across all construction, material, and operational activities.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

· Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.

· Identify potential hazards, recommend corrective actions, and track resolutions to completion.

· Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, including root cause analysis and documentation.

· Develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and OSHA 10- and 30-Hour training as an OSHA Authorized Trainer.

· Create project-specific safety plans and training based on the scope of work.

· Partner with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to proactively address safety concerns and promote safe work practices.

· Attend project meetings and serve as the primary safety resource for field operations.

· Maintain all safety documentation, reporting, and regulatory records.

· Serve as the primary point of contact during OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and insurance inspections or audits.

· Continuously evaluate and improve company safety policies, procedures, and overall safety culture.

What You'll Need:

· 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil construction, site development, underground utilities, roadway construction, excavation, or material operations.

· Strong working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.

· OSHA Authorized Trainer (10- and 30-Hour) certification preferred; OSHA 30 required. OSHA 500, CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar certifications are a plus.

· Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, investigations, and developing corrective action plans.

· Proven experience developing and delivering safety training programs.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with safety management software is a plus.

· Experience working with insurance carriers and workers' compensation programs is preferred.

· Bilingual abilities are a plus.
