Full Job Description

Manufacturing Finance | Inventory Costing & Analysis | GAAP Reporting | Columbus, OH

Nuvo Packaging dba Pinnpack Ohio (thermoformed packaging & extrusion manufacturer) seeks a technically rigorous Senior Accountant to own financial close, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and reporting in a scaling operation. This role suits a detail-driven professional who masters complex processes, thrives under deadline pressure with strong mental stamina, and delivers precise, data-driven insights that improve manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

Full-cycle close & reporting: Lead monthly/quarterly/year-end close including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and GAAP financial statements.
Inventory & costing: Manage physical inventory counts, perpetual records, weighted average costing, and valuation in direct coordination with operations and supply chain.
GL, controls & compliance: Oversee general ledger, AP/AR; maintain strong internal controls, documentation, audit support, and statutory compliance.
Analysis & decision support: Perform advanced financial analysis, budgeting/forecast support, and cross-functional reporting on manufacturing variances, inventory accuracy, and process improvements.
Continuous improvement: Identify enhancements to accounting processes while adhering to GMP, safety, and lean practices.

Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance + 4+ years progressive accounting experience (manufacturing/industrial preferred); Advanced Excel & ERP proficiency; Strong GAAP & internal controls knowledge; Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines and extended close hours; Excellent analytical, problem-solving & communication skills.

Preferred: CPA or active progress; Master’s degree; Direct plastics/packaging/thermoforming experience; Hands-on physical inventory, weighted average costing & manufacturing variance analysis; Multi-site or 3PL close experience; Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Reports to: VP of Finance | Supervises: Staff Accountants & Assistants (as assigned) | Location: Columbus, OH

Ideal Candidate: A self-motivated technical expert who finds satisfaction in precision, data mastery, and building deep expertise. Comfortable with pressure, shifting priorities, and long hours during closes while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and driving process improvements in a structured yet dynamic manufacturing environment.
