Die Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Capco has an immediate opening on 2nd shift and currently looking to train the right candidate. Ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude & troubleshooting skills, ability to follow basic work instructions and all related safety policies and procedures. Be able to learn/understand CAD software and part drawings and basic measurement tools as needed. Previous experience in steel stamping: piercing, trimming, forming is a plus.
The primary duties for this position are to support the production & business related equipment & production areas with adequate & timely maintenance & repair including but not limited to:
- Assure the safety of all equipment and personnel in Die Maintenance area.
- Support the production & business related equipment & production areas with timely maintenance & repair regarding dies.
- Coordinate die repair activities to meet press schedule.
- Meet Quality Standards.
- Coordinate with Engineering to maintain die replacement details.
- Support Engineering and management to assure accurate records keeping of all die maintenance activities:
- Die Maintenance Work Order Requests – Specific details describing any and all changes to the die including but not limited to: details numbers, tooling replacement, grinding location and amount, shim amount and direction, abnormalities, die damage, etc.
- Rework Requests – Verify rework matches the Rework Order Request and document accordingly.
- Time sheets – completed and turned in daily
- Communicate to Engineering and management the status of all project and Die Maintenance activities.
- Develop, implement, conduct, and refine preventative maintenance programs on all aspects of die maintenance.

Other duties will include:
- Follow all company and departmental procedures & policies
- Utilization of PM books for reference and record keeping
- Reporting any abnormalities
- Complete Preventative Maintenance & grinding to “Time Standard”
- Adhere to proper break times and schedule
- Conduct shift walk-through with on-coming shift personnel
- Communicate known issues from shift to on-coming shift personnel
- Complete 5S of workbenches and department area
- Clean department area at end of shift
- Other duties as required

Training Requirements
- Learn basic operation of all presses
- Forklift operator certification
- Overhead crane operator certification
- Pallet jacks use and other material handling equipment as necessary.
- Understanding tooling inventory procedures
- Understanding purchasing practices

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 30-45 pounds frequently
- Overtime as required
- Ability to remain on feet for prolonged periods

- Skills & Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years or the equivalent in die maintenance apprenticeship program, or;
- Two (2) years previous experience in machine maintenance activity
- Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word)
- Leadership role a plus
