As an Account Clerk I/II – Extra Help, you'll provide essential administrative and financial support by maintaining accurate records, processing financial transactions, assisting with clerical and accounting duties, purchasing program and department supplies,and delivering courteous customer service to staff, clients, and the public. Your organization, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy will help ensure the efficient operation of our department.

Please note: This extra help assignment is anticipated to last approximately six (6) months but may end earlier or be extended, up to a maximum of twelve (12) months, based on the operational needs of the department. This is a non-benefited position, and salary will vary based on candidate experience. Extra-Help employees may not exceed 960 hours worked in a fiscal year or 28 hours per week.

As an Account Clerk I/II, you’ll support the Behavioral Health Department by performing a variety of clerical accounting and bookkeeping duties, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other related functions. Additional responsibilities include assisting with a variety of department and program support activities.

Supervision & Examples of Duties

Account Clerk I - Receives immediate supervision from supervisory or management staff.

Account Clerk II - Receives general supervision from supervisory or management staff.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience
Account Clerk I: One year of general clerical experience is desirable.

Account Clerk II: One year of responsible clerical bookkeeping or accounting experience.

All Levels
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by courses in bookkeeping, accounting or a related field.
