Overview
We are a fast-growing retail and wholesale company based in Houston, TX looking for a bilingual (Spanish/English) logistics coordinator to manage imports from Mexico. This role will help build and manage our supply chain for products such as botanicals, spices, and packaged foods. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing transportation, optimizing supply chain processes, and fostering strong customer and carrier relationships. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in logistics, transportation management, and sales to contribute to the efficiency and growth of our logistics operations.

Duties

Coordinate and oversee transportation planning, ensuring timely delivery of freight across various modes.
Manage relationships with carriers, 3PL providers, NVOCCs, and other logistics partners to negotiate contracts and optimize freight costs.
Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS), EDI, AS400, and CRM software to track shipments, update data entry records, and streamline operations.
Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with supply chain objectives while adhering to FDA regulations and industry standards.
Engage in inside sales activities including lead generation, account management, and logistics sales to expand business opportunities.
Dispatch shipments efficiently by coordinating with carriers and internal teams to meet customer expectations.
Manage pricing negotiations, contracts, and carrier sales to maximize profitability.
Support freight forwarding activities including B2B sales, transportation sales, and logistics sales initiatives.
Monitor supply chain performance metrics and prepare reports for continuous improvement efforts.

Experience

Prior experience with FDA regulations relevant to logistics operations is a plus. This role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to develop their career in logistics coordination while contributing to efficient supply chain solutions within a fast-paced environment.Organize documents (invoices, packing lists, FDA info) Help build a weekly import system
Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management systems, or logistics coordination.
Strong background in customer relationship management (CRM), account management, and inside sales within a logistics or freight environment.
Familiarity with 3PL operations, NVOCC procedures, freight forwarding, and transportation planning.
Knowledge of contracts negotiation, pricing strategies, and carrier sales processes.
Experience working with EDI systems, AS400 platforms, and data entry accuracy is highly desirable.
Excellent negotiation skills coupled with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
