Full Job Description

Position Summary

Flossy Orthodontics is looking for a friendly, motivated, dependable, and highly coachable individual to join our team as a Front Desk / Treatment Coordinator Trainee.

No previous orthodontic or dental experience is required. We are looking for someone with the right personality, work ethic, communication skills, and willingness to learn.

At Flossy Orthodontics, exceptional patient service is a priority. Team members are expected to communicate professionally and positively with patients and families and provide courteous, helpful service on the phone and in person.

You will learn how to:

Prepare for new patient consultations
Welcome new patients and make them feel comfortable
Gather necessary patient and insurance information
Understand the doctor's recommended treatment so you can appropriately support the consultation
Explain the orthodontic process in a clear and patient-friendly manner
Present treatment fees and available financial arrangements
Explain insurance benefits and estimated coverage
Discuss payment and financing options
Answer common questions about beginning orthodontic treatment
Help patients and parents feel confident moving forward
Coordinate treatment-start appointments
Follow up with patients who have not yet scheduled treatment
Maintain accurate documentation and follow-up records
Work closely with the doctor, clinical team, and front-office team to provide a seamless patient experience

Because this is a trainee position, asking questions is encouraged. We do not expect a new team member to know orthodontics on day one. We do expect them to listen, take notes, practice, accept coaching, and steadily improve.

Team members are also expected to recognize the limits of their training and ask the doctor or management for guidance when they are unsure.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
No orthodontic or dental experience required
Customer service, hospitality, retail, childcare, reception, sales, or administrative experience is helpful but not required
Comfortable using computers and learning new software
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Willingness to learn, practice, and be coached
