Full Job Description

FDRsafety is seeking a Director of DOT Compliance & Safety to lead transportation safety and regulatory compliance across a multi-site operation throughout Florida. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety programs to ensure full compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong field presence, executive-level communication, and the ability to influence safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Oversight

Ensure company-wide compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations, including:
- Hours of Service (HOS)
- Driver Qualification (DQ) files
- Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements
Monitor CSA scores and implement corrective action plans to maintain compliance standards
Serve as the lead for all internal and external DOT audits and inspections

Safety Leadership & Culture

Develop and lead safety initiatives that promote a strong, compliant, and proactive safety culture
Communicate safety expectations and performance to leadership, drivers, and field teams
Provide coaching and support to improve safety performance across operations

Bilingual Communication & Training

Conduct safety meetings, training sessions, and incident investigations in both English and Spanish
Ensure clear communication and understanding across a diverse workforce

Multi-Site Oversight

Travel regularly across Florida to conduct site audits, inspections, and safety reviews
Maintain a visible presence in the field to support operations and ensure compliance

Policy & Program Management

Maintain and update company safety policies, procedures, and manuals
Ensure alignment with federal, state, and industry standards
Drive continuous improvement in safety programs and processes

Qualifications

Required

Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
7–10+ years of experience in transportation safety and compliance
3+ years in a leadership or management role
Deep knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations and compliance standards
Valid CDL with a clean driving record
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization

Preferred

Experience managing multi-site or regional safety programs
Proven track record improving safety performance and audit outcomes
