Full Job Description

Senior Architectural Drafter

JAG Architecture is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Drafter to prepare and coordinate construction documents for retail, grocery, hospitality, restaurant, and commercial projects from schematic design through permitting and construction administration.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects while coordinating with Project Managers, consultants, clients, landlords, contractors, and public agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare high-quality architectural construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
Develop architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and project specifications.
Coordinate structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other consultant drawings.
Coordinate directly with Project Manager/Job Captain, consultants, clients, landlords, contractors, and public agencies.
Prepare permit submittals and respond to plan check comments.
Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and coordination.
Assist with RFIs, submittals, ASIs, and construction administration.
Maintain project schedules and meet established deadlines.
Identify design and coordination issues and proactively develop solutions.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field preferred.
Minimum 8 years of architectural drafting and construction document experience.
Strong experience with retail, restaurant, grocery, hospitality, tenant improvement, and commercial projects.
Excellent knowledge of construction detailing and building systems.
Strong understanding of California building codes and permitting processes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Highly organized with strong time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
