Full Job Description

Job Description

GPA Logistics Group is looking for a dedicated Cross-Dock Manager. The Cross-Dock Manager will be responsible for all activities as they pertain to a key customer across a 7-day operation. The Cross-Dock Manager oversees the operations of a distribution "cross dock" which serves to deconsolidate inbound truck loads and LTL deliveries of parcel packages from Metro Fulfillment Centers, sort and build outbound shipments to carrier spokes. Role would require compliance with established company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Duties:

Maintains the physical condition of the warehouse facility to reflect cleanliness, efficiency and organization.

Monitor and ensure all material handling equipment is maintained and in proper working condition.

Supervises all warehouse personnel, assigns tasks and duties on a daily basis, i.e., shipping and receiving of inventory.

Monitors accuracy of package sorting and final destination scanning, which will be measured by agreed upon customer SLAs and associated financial penalties levied against the company if not met or exceeded.

Monitors expense budgets for repair and maintenance of equipment and overall building expenses.

Assists with scheduling all inbound deliveries.

Responsible for training and development of all warehouse personnel, to include hiring and evaluating employees.

Works directly with Warehouse General Manager on day to day planning and improvement initiatives.

Complies with all safety standards and requirements to ensure a safe and hazard-free workplace.

Maintain daily, weekly, monthly reports assigned.

Office responsibilities include managing flow of paperwork, assignment of duties to office staff and follow up to ensure tasks are completed.

Oversee billing including reviewing existing procedures and implementing new procedures as needed.

Responsible for KPI and Metrics performance.

Serves as liaison between office and warehouse/dock in order to communicate and solve problems between the customer demands and operational constraints.

Responsible for enforcement of policies and procedures.

Assumes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience: High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent required. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not necessary. Additional computer training desired. The successful candidate will have management experience in transportation and material handling activities for high volume warehousing and/or freight consolidation trucking terminal operations. Experience should include operations, process development and documentation skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Supervisory responsibilities require excellent communication and organization skills with strong knowledge of personal computer use with skills in MSOffice. Monitoring of operations, including service provider costing, and strong customer service emphasis. Must be attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in work assignments.

Must have the flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends.

This is a 7-day per week / 2nd shift operation, with hours being approximately 4PM - 12:30AM.

Precise schedule is TBD, but it will require at least 1 weekend evening as part of the regular schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 5 years supervisory experience preferred. Bi-lingual English/Spanish candidate is a plus.
