Full Job Description

Precision Hose and Expansion Joints is a leading manufacturer in the hose and expansion joint industry. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Machinist specializing in Lathe and Mill operations to join our team. As a Manual Machinist, you will play a critical role in the production of precision parts used in various industries.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate manual lathes and mills to fabricate parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances.
Select and install appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures for the machines.
Perform machine adjustments and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the machining process.
Monitor machining operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality.
Maintain and clean machines, tools, and work area to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
Collaborate with the production team to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Manual Machinist, specializing in Lathe and Mill operations.
In-depth knowledge of manual machining techniques, tools, and equipment.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong ability to set up and operate manual lathes and mills independently.
Skilled in selecting appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures.
Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Prior experience with CNC machining is a plus.
