Full Job Description

Job Opening: City Clerk (32 Hours/Week) City of Crofton, Nebraska The City of Crofton is accepting applications for a City Clerk. This is a 32-hour-per-week position with the opportunity for a qualified candidate to serve as City Clerk/Treasurer, increasing the position to 40 hours per week with a higher hourly wage.

Responsibilities

Attend City Council meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and maintain official records. Prepare legal notices and maintain ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other city records. Assist residents and respond to public inquiries. Process permits, licenses, and other municipal documents. Maintain records in accordance with Nebraska law. Prepare correspondence and perform general administrative and office duties. Work with the Mayor, City Council, city staff, and the public. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in office administration, bookkeeping, municipal government, or a related field is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. City Clerk/Treasurer Opportunity Applicants with accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, or municipal finance experience may be considered for the combined City Clerk/Treasurer position. Additional duties include managing city finances, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and assisting with the annual audit.

Compensation & Benefits City Clerk: 32 hours per week. Pay: $20 to $25 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

City Clerk/Treasurer: 40 hours per week for qualified candidates. Pay: $20.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits: Health insurance and paid time off.
