Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our travel healthcare team across the United States. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing services, assessing patient needs, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following physician orders
- Monitor patients' conditions closely, including acute pain management and respiratory support such as ventilator care
- Document all patient interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, and processing
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities
- Support discharge planning and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication administration, wound care, and health management strategies
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during procedures
Duties
The role involves traveling to various healthcare facilities nationwide to deliver exceptional nursing services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments in diverse environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health settings
- Managing complex cases involving ICU or emergency medicine scenarios, including airway management and acute trauma care
- Administering IV therapy, catheterization procedures, tube feeding, and other advanced nursing interventions
- Utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth for accurate documentation of patient care activities
- Collaborating with physicians, therapists, case managers, and caregivers to develop individualized care plans
- Ensuring compliance with long-term care regulations and documentation standards for Medicare/Medicaid facilities
- Providing education on geriatrics, dementia care, pain management, and behavioral health issues
- Participating in ongoing training related to ICD-9/ICD-10 coding or CPT coding for billing purposes
- Supporting infection control measures during specimen collection or sterile procedures
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of practical nursing experience across multiple healthcare settings. Specific qualifications include:
- Proven experience working in hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, or home health agencies
- Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with Level I/II Trauma Centers is advantageous
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pharmacology related to medication administration and IV therapy
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia
- Skilled in performing physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and documentation standards for Medicare/Medicaid compliance
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations involving urgent or emergency care scenarios such as airway management or acute pain episodes
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and First Aid required; additional certifications like PICU experience or hospice care are beneficial

Pay: $1,600.00 - $1,950.00 per week
