About Us

Site Landscape Development is a leading commercial landscape company serving the DFW area, specializing in high-quality maintenance and construction services for commercial properties. SLD is driven by innovation, powered by technology and defined by extraordinary culture.

Overview

The Landscape Commercial Construction Estimator plays a key role in the preconstruction phase by developing clear, accurate, and competitive bids for commercial landscape construction projects. This role supports the preconstruction process by reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, and assembling well-documented cost estimates.

The Estimator works collaboratively with Preconstruction, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure scopes are complete, pricing is realistic, and projects are positioned for smooth execution through completion.

What you'll do:

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment on commercial landscape construction projects.
Develop accurate cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead.
Prepare and submit complete bid proposals, including scope clarifications, alternates, and value-engineering ideas.
Solicit, review, and validate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure scopes are complete and comparable.
Collaborate with Preconstruction, Project Managers, and Operations to ensure estimates are buildable—not just good on paper.
Attend pre-bid meetings, respond to RFIs, and communicate professionally with clients, designers, and vendors.
Enter and track bids and estimates in Aspire, Bid Board, or CRM systems, while helping maintain historical cost data.

What you bring:

2+ years in the landscape and/or irrigation construction industry.
2+ years of hands-on estimating experience for landscape and irrigation projects.
Strong ability to read scaled drawings, use architect/engineer scales, and understand irrigation plans.
Solid math skills (area, volume, conversions - no calculators crying in the corner).
Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple bids and deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating software, and modern construction tech.
Experience with Aspire or similar landscape/construction software is preferred but not required.
Preferred: Field experience installing landscape or irrigation.
Working knowledge of DFW new construction and interest in staying current on industry and market trends that affect pricing and scope.

Pay, benefits, and schedule:

Full-time, salaried position with competitive pay.

Primarily office-based schedule with standard business hours, with some flexibility around key bid dates.
