Full Job Description

Seeking experienced CNC lathe setup machinist in Arvada, CO.

The Basics

Pay: $35–41/hr
Shift: 1st shift, Mon–Thu, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM — overtime available
Location: Arvada, CO (on-site)
Requirement: Must be a U.S. person (ITAR) — this is aerospace/defense work

Who We Are

Final Frontier Manufacturing makes precision hard-metal parts for the companies putting rockets and satellites into orbit. We're a small, engineering-led shop in Arvada building for aerospace and defense — AS9100D certified, ITAR registered — where parts are flight-critical and there's no such thing as "close enough."

The Role

We're looking for an experienced lathe machinist to own setups end to end — work-holding, prove-out, and standing behind the first part before it reaches inspection. This is a setup role, not an operator role: you'll be trusted to plan the sequence, build the setup, and get it right, with programming and quality support when you need it. Live tooling experience is essential.

What You'll Do

Own complex setups from raw stock to verified first article.
Make adjustments at the control — offsets, wear comp, minor program tweaks — with programming there to back you up.
Self-inspect thoroughly so the first piece of every run is in tolerance and genuinely "ready for First Article" before it reaches the lab.
Hold tight GD&T on demanding parts, managing tool wear and process drift across the run.
Work with programming and quality to close the loop between program intent and the finished part — your feedback makes the next job better.
Assist other machinists with setups and troubleshooting as needed.
Support up and coming talent in learning how to become established machinists.

What You Bring

5+ years of lathe setup experience, with live tooling as a core, not occasional, part of the job.
Working understanding of GD&T.
Extensive understanding of materials —aluminum, stainless steels, plastics, and high-temp alloys.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, height and bore gauges, indicators).
Experience with Fanuc and/or Okuma OSP controls
Your own tools.
