Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various legal matters, including personal injury, med mal, work comp, family law and criminal law. This role requires a strong understanding of legal terminology, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Duties/Skills

Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery.
Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible.
Provide executive administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars and preparing correspondence.
Communicate with clients, witnesses and other parties involved in legal proceedings as needed.
Maintain effective phone etiquette when communicating with clients, courts, and other legal professionals.
Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.

Experience

Previous experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role is preferred but not mandatory.
Must be able to work effectively under pressure and ability to multi-task a must.
Proficiency in document review and legal administrative tasks is highly desirable.
Strong skills in effective communication are critical for success in this role.
Experience using legal research tools such as Westlaw is a plus.
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills within the legal field is encouraged.
